The Client and the Challenge

Wohnloewe.de is a real estate site in Germany that was being created from scratch, and the owners wanted SEO involved before the first page was built rather than after launch. German real estate search is regional and specific - property type, city, district, buy or rent - and the portals dominate the generic terms, so a new site needs a structure that targets the searches it can win from the beginning. The engagement covered the strategy for the build and the optimization through launch.

Our Approach

We created the website structure first: regions and cities, property types, buy and rent paths, and the informational content buyers and sellers search for - valuation, process, costs - designed so every significant query had a page and the pages linked in a logical hierarchy. The semantic core was collected in German across those dimensions. An SEO audit was run on the site as it stood and again after the additions, so the build could be corrected while it was cheap to correct. Technical specifications for the programmers covered the templates, URL structure, metadata logic and structured data for listings.

What We Did

Structure and keyword core
Pre- and post-build audit
Developer and content TOR
GBP
Links
Analytics and goals

Analytics were installed with goals for enquiries and valuation requests so the site's performance could be measured from launch. The Google Business Profile for the agency was optimized to capture local searches. Links were placed from relevant regional and property sources to give the new domain authority. Technical specifications for the content guided the writers producing region, property-type and guide pages, and competitor analysis of the local agencies and portals informed both the structure and the content priorities.

The two-audit approach - before and after additions - is what kept the build on track: problems were found in the development version, not in production.

Results

Real-estate site built on an SEO structure.

Wohnloewe.de launched on a structure designed for how Germans search for property, with listings marked up for search, content for the regions and property types it serves, analytics measuring enquiries, an optimized local profile and early links - a real estate site built to compete from its first day rather than rebuilt in its second year.

Notes From the Project

Structured data for listings was specified from the start: each property page carries RealEstateListing and Place markup with price, size, type and location, and the region pages carry local business and breadcrumb markup. On a new domain, that markup helps Google understand the site quickly and can earn enhanced results long before the site has the authority to compete on links alone - one of the few advantages a well-built new site has over an established one.

What This Means for Your Business

Realtors and brokerages in Vancouver face the same portal-dominated market. North SEO's real estate SEO service plans the site structure - neighbourhoods, property types, buyer and seller guides - before the build, so the site targets the searches a local agency can actually win.
