Eureka Printing is a printing service in Australia whose existing site had grown into a problem: an old structure, Search Console full of errors, a link profile with toxic links from a previous provider, categories that did not match how customers order print, and analytics that had never been configured. The company needed the existing site optimized while a new site was built, and then a migration that would not lose the rankings the optimization work was about to earn.
Work on the existing site started with an audit and a technical assignment for the programmers. New categories were created to match the products customers search - business cards, flyers, banners, stickers, packaging - and existing categories were optimized. Competitor analysis of Australian print services shaped the category and content plan. Google Analytics was set up properly, Search Console errors were worked through and resolved, and the link profile was cleaned: toxic links identified and disavowed so the domain could recover. The semantic core was assembled across products, formats, materials and turnaround queries, and briefs for the texts guided the category and product content.
Link building ran alongside to replace the removed links with legitimate ones. For the new site, we produced the SEO specification for the build - structure, templates, URL logic, technical requirements - and, as launch approached, created the redirect map from every old URL to its new equivalent, the document that decides whether a migration keeps its rankings. The new site was tested against the specification and the redirect map before going live, and Search Console was monitored through the switchover.
Content management throughout kept the categories, product pages and texts consistent between the old and new sites so nothing indexed on the old site was lost on the new.
Eureka Printing launched its new site without losing rankings: a clean link profile, a category structure matching how Australians order print, working analytics, resolved Search Console errors and a complete redirect map - the optimization and the migration handled as one continuous project.
The redirect map is worth describing because it is where migrations fail. We exported every URL Google had indexed and every URL receiving traffic or links, matched each to its destination on the new structure - product to product, category to category, retired pages to the nearest relevant page rather than the home page - and tested the map before launch. Pages that would have been lost were identified in advance and either rebuilt on the new site or redirected deliberately. That work is invisible when it succeeds, which is exactly the point.
Print shops, sign makers and packaging suppliers in Vancouver face the same moment when an old site has to be replaced. North SEO's Website Migration SEO service does what this project did: fix and optimize the existing site, specify the new one, map every redirect and protect the rankings through launch.
