The Client and the Challenge

SDG-Trade teaches trading - courses and educational content for people learning to trade financial markets. Education in finance is a demanding niche for SEO: Google treats it as YMYL and scrutinizes quality, the search results are crowded with brokers and large education platforms, and much of the search demand is informational - people looking to understand a concept before they consider a course. The site had courses and articles but no strategy connecting them to search demand.

Our Approach

The work began with an SEO audit to establish the technical and content baseline, and with competitor analysis of the trading-education sites and brokers ranking for the target queries: what kind of content they produced, how deep it went, how they structured courses and glossary content, and how much authority they had. The semantic core was collected around three types of query - concepts and terminology, strategies and methods, and course and learning queries - because each maps to a different page type and a different stage of the learner's journey.

What We Did

SEO audit
Competitor analysis
Keyword core
Link building
Blog and page content
Meta tags and analytics

Content was produced for the blog and the course pages against that keyword map: explanatory articles for the informational queries, structured to answer clearly and to lead naturally to the relevant course; course pages rewritten around what a prospective student searches. Meta tags were optimized across the site. Link building added authority from finance and education sources. Site analytics were analysed to see which content produced enrolments rather than only visits, and a strategy document was created to guide the following months - which topics to expand, which pages to consolidate, and where the link work should focus.

Given the YMYL context, every piece of content was written to inform accurately, with the risks of trading stated rather than glossed over, which is both the responsible approach and the one Google rewards in finance.

Results

Foundation and content program delivered.

SDG-Trade came out with a content programme aligned to how people learn to trade, optimized course pages, links from relevant sources, analytics that show which articles produce students, and a strategy to keep building - the foundation for organic growth in a niche that punishes shortcuts.

Notes From the Project

The three-tier keyword structure shaped the whole site. Concept queries ('what is leverage', 'how does a stop loss work') became glossary-style articles with clear definitions and examples; strategy queries became longer guides; course queries became the commercial pages. Internal links ran upward - from concept to strategy to course - so a reader arriving at a definition could find their way to a course in two clicks, and so authority earned by the informational content flowed to the pages that sell.

What This Means for Your Business

Financial education, coaching and training providers in Vancouver face the same YMYL scrutiny. North SEO's approach in these niches is the one used here: accurate informational content mapped to the learner's journey, careful link sources and analytics tied to enrolments.
