Cafe 7'ya is a family cafe in a town in the Kyiv region - the kind of place found almost entirely through the map. Nobody searches for a small cafe by name; they search 'cafe near me', 'breakfast', 'coffee', or the town's name plus 'restaurant', and they choose from the three pins Google shows. A cafe without a well-built Google Business Profile does not exist for those searches, no matter how good the food is. The owners had a page on social media and nothing on Google, so passing traffic and visitors to the town could not find them.
We created the profile and treated it like a menu board that search engines can read. Keyword research for the profile identified the terms people in and around the town use - cafe, coffee shop, breakfast, family restaurant, the local place names and landmarks - and competitor analysis reviewed the other cafes and restaurants appearing in the map results: what categories they used, how complete their listings were, how many photos and reviews they had. Categories were set with a primary category matching the highest-value searches and secondary categories for the other things the cafe is: bakery, breakfast restaurant, coffee shop.
Services and products were built out so the profile shows what the cafe sells - menu sections, signature dishes, coffee, desserts, catering - each with a short description carrying the relevant keywords. The business description was written in plain language around the search terms, with the atmosphere, family focus, hours and location stated clearly. Photos are what sell a cafe online, so a proper photo set was added and optimized: the interior, the terrace, dishes, coffee, the team, each file named and tagged before upload.
A review campaign invited regular customers to leave feedback, every review was checked and answered, and four keyword-based posts introduced seasonal dishes and events to keep the profile active. Positions for the target searches were monitored in the weeks after launch so the categories and services could be adjusted to what was actually driving views.
The cafe gained a complete, active Google presence: visible for the local and 'near me' searches that bring people through the door, with photos, reviews and a menu customers can see before they decide. For a small food business that is the difference between passing trade and no trade.
A detail that matters for small food businesses: hours and attributes. Google shows 'open now' filters and attribute chips - outdoor seating, takeout, family-friendly, accepts cards - and a listing missing them drops out of filtered searches entirely. We filled every attribute that applied, set precise hours including holiday variations, and enabled the messaging feature so customers could ask about reservations or catering without calling. Small fields, but for a cafe in a small town they decide whether the listing appears when someone searches 'cafe open now' on a Sunday morning.
Cafes, bakeries and restaurants across Metro Vancouver live in the same three pins. North SEO's GBP Optimisation gives a food business the profile it needs - categories, menu, photos, reviews, posts - and GBP Management keeps it active week after week.
