The Client and the Challenge

Sister's Aroma is a perfumery brand from Ukraine with an audience across Europe and a YouTube channel that was not pulling its weight. Fragrance is a category where video does real selling - reviews, comparisons, notes, layering - but the channel's videos were poorly labelled, unorganized and invisible in YouTube search. The budget was small and defined.

YouTube is a search engine. A channel that ignores titles, descriptions, tags and playlists is as invisible as a website that ignores them, regardless of how good the videos are.

Our Approach

We began with keyword research specific to the brand's topic: the phrases people search when looking for fragrance reviews, notes, comparisons and recommendations, prioritized by what the audience actually uses. Those keywords went into the titles, descriptions and tags of every existing video. Titles were rewritten to be catchy, short and meaningful, with the keywords relevant to the content; descriptions were expanded to summarize the video usefully and to carry the search terms; tags and category were set correctly for every upload.

Thumbnails were addressed as a design task - attractive, visually consistent, capturing the essence of each video - because click-through in YouTube results depends on them as much as on the title.

What We Did

Keyword research for video
Optimized titles, descriptions, tags
Thumbnails and channel branding
Playlists
Audience engagement and collaboration plan

Playlists were created to group videos by theme so viewers move from one video to the next and watch time increases, and the channel's identifying elements - banner, icon, sections - were made consistent with the brand. An engagement routine was set up: responding to comments, drawing viewers into discussion, and a plan for collaboration with bloggers and influencers in the fragrance space, plus simple ways for subscribers to help spread videos. The budget went to the work that compounds: professional thumbnails, improved descriptions and the channel's unique branding elements.

Results

Channel set up for search-driven views and subscriber growth.

The channel came out organized and searchable: every video labelled for the queries its audience uses, thumbnails that earn clicks, playlists that hold viewers, and a routine for engagement - the set-up that lets a brand channel grow views and subscribers from search rather than only from paid promotion.

Notes From the Project

Keyword research for YouTube differs from web research in one important way: intent is broader and the audience is browsing as much as searching. So alongside the obvious 'review' and 'best of' queries we mapped the questions fragrance enthusiasts ask - how long does it last, what does it smell like, what is it similar to, how to layer it - and used them in titles and descriptions where the videos actually answered them. Playlists were built along the same lines: by fragrance family, by occasion, by concentration. The structure lets a viewer who arrives from one search stay for three or four videos, which is the watch-time signal YouTube rewards.
