An Italian software company sells an augmented-reality platform for manufacturing - tools that let factory workers see assembly instructions, maintenance steps and quality checks overlaid on the equipment in front of them. It is a narrow niche with a small number of buyers, high deal values and a US market where the competitors are better funded and better known. The company's site was well built but nearly invisible in American search results; almost all traffic came from Europe and from its own name.
The brief was to grow organic traffic from the United States and, specifically, to make the company visible for the terms manufacturing buyers use when they research AR solutions - not the generic 'augmented reality' queries dominated by consumer tech, but the operational ones: work instructions, remote assistance, training, inspection.
The project ran from November 2021 to March 2022. It started with a deep analysis of the niche: who ranked for the operational queries, what kind of pages they were (product, use-case, industry, guide), how much content and authority they had, and where the gaps were. From that we built a strategy that covered all three layers - technical improvements to the site, content built around the target audience's actual queries, and a link programme to give the domain the authority it lacked in the US.
Content was the core. We mapped the queries to use cases (assembly, maintenance, quality, training) and industries (automotive, aerospace, machinery) and produced pages for each intersection, written with the specificity an engineer expects rather than marketing copy. Existing pages were rewritten to match intent, and the interface was improved so visitors could move from a use case to a demo request without hunting.
Technical work cleaned up crawl and indexing issues and improved speed. Links were earned through industry resources, manufacturing publications and partner sites - organic sources rather than paid placements. We also set up a Google Business Profile for the company's presence, which added a local-visibility layer that competitors in the niche had ignored. Results were monitored continuously and the strategy adjusted as the data came in: use cases that gained traction got more depth; those that did not were folded into broader pages.
Between November 2021 and March 2022, visibility in Google grew by 348%. The number of keywords ranking in the top 10 grew by 1,200%. Targeted traffic from the US market rose substantially, and the company reported higher sales attributable to the optimized content - in a niche where a single lead can be worth a large contract.
Narrow niches reward specificity. A Vancouver B2B company competing against larger players does not need more content; it needs the right pages for the queries buyers actually use. That intersection-mapping approach is how North SEO builds strategy for technical and industrial clients today.
