How is this different from a normal rank tracker?

A normal rank tracker searches from one location (often a city centre) and reports one position. Google Maps results change with the searcher's location, so a single number can be badly wrong for most of your area. The geo-grid searches from many points and shows the rank at each one.

What grid size should I use?

For a shop or office that serves the surrounding neighbourhoods, 5 x 5 at 1 to 1.5 km. For a service-area business that drives to customers, 7 x 7 at 2 to 3 km. Use 3 x 3 for quick checks.

Why do results change slightly between scans?

Google Maps personalizes and tests results constantly, so two searches a minute apart can differ by a position. Look at the trend over several scans rather than a single run.

How many scans can I run?

Each scan uses one check per grid point per keyword. A 5 x 5 grid with 4 keywords is 100 checks. The plan includes 2,000 checks a month.

Does it work outside Canada?
