How do you find where a competitor is listed?

We search Google for the competitor's phone number in quotation marks. Pages that list the business with that number show up in the results. It is the same method local SEO specialists use by hand - the tool just does it for several businesses at once and organizes the results.

Why phone number and not business name?

Phone numbers are unique and formatted consistently, so they find listings reliably. Names return a lot of unrelated pages.

Does it build the citations for me?

No - it finds them. Building listings means creating accounts and submitting your details on each site. North SEO offers that as a service if you would rather not do it yourself.

How many searches do I get?

50 per month. Each search covers one keyword in one city and checks up to 5 competitors plus you.

What if my phone number has changed?

Use the number currently on your Google Business Profile, and make sure every listing you build uses the same one. Mismatched numbers are a common reason citations stop helping.

Can I cancel any time?

What a citation is and why it matters

A citation is any web page that mentions your business name, address and phone number - directories like Yellow Pages and Yelp, industry sites like HomeStars or RateMDs, chambers of commerce, local news. Google uses them to confirm your business is real and where it is, and consistent citations are one of the most reliable local ranking factors.
